Testicular artery
Other Terms: Testicular arterial tree, Arteria testicularis, Artère testiculaire
Description
The testicular arteries are two long slender vessels which arise from the front of the aorta a short distance below the renal arteries. They pass downward and slightly laterally obliquely across the psoas major muscle and the ureter to the external iliac artery. From this point in the male, the testicular artery continues through the abdominal inguinal ring and the inguinal canal as a constituent of the spermatic cord for final distribution to the testicle.
