Lens
Other Terms: Cristallin, Lentille, Lente
Description
The lens is a transparent, elastic-like structure that is hooked to ligaments. It is composed of crystalline cells that are easily deformed. The lens functions to help refract light to the retina. It can change the focal distance of the eye so that it can focus on different objects that are at random distances. This is known as accommodation and it makes so that the eye can focus on a single object if needed.
