Situated deep to the long plantar ligament, this is a short, thick, wide ligamentous band. It connects the anterior calcaneal tubercle to the plantar surface of the navicular bone.
Function
Stabilizes the talocalcaneonavicular joint. It helps support the lateral longitudinal arch of the foot. Stabilizes the calcaneonavicular bone.
