Description
Rounded ligamentous cords situated on the lateral and medial sides of the metacarpophalangeal joints. They run obliquely across the joint from the posterior aspect of the metacarpal bone to the anterior aspect of the proximal phalanx.
Function
Stabilize the metacarpophalangeal joint. Limit lateral movements of the joint.
