Description
This ligament is a thin, narrow ligament that connects the lateral margin of the foramen magnum to the superolateral border of the posterior arch of the atlas and its lateral mass.
Function
Stabilizes the atlanto-occipital junction and limits lateral flexion of the head on the atlas.
